Our Pastor

Pastor Dean & Christianna Sisk

Since Dean’s  life was changed through a personal relationship with Jesus as teenager and he has been passionate  about knowing and following Jesus in his own life and wants to help other do the same thing. Before coming to Somerset  Dean pastored in Colorado and in Utah  and has spent time in other parts of the world helping to tell others about Jesus  and His saving grace.  Christianna came to know Jesus as her Savior as a child in Children’s Church and as a teenager began to  feel a call to full time ministry. She has served as Worship Leader, Women’s Ministry Coordinator and Community  Outreach Coordinator  in the churches  they have pastored.    Dean and Christianna were married in 1987 and  have 4 children and 9 grandchildren.

Our Purpose

Our purpose here at SCOG is to be a  healthy life- giving church that is making a difference in our community. We want all people to experience the reality of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and the difference He can make in their life. Jesus gave His life for us and now we want to live our life for Him by serving Him, by listening to and doing the things He taught us to do, and by bringing glory and honor to His name.
We want our church to be

A place that broken and wounded people can find healing,

A place were we can pray, seek and pursue God.

A place  that is passionate and celebrative in our praise and expressions of thanks to our God

A place where  people live generously by serving each other and reaching out to our world.

What We Believe:

1.  In the verbal inspiration of the Bible.
2.  In one God eternally existing in three persons; namely, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
3.  That Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the father, conceived of the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary. That Jesus was crucified,                    buried and raised from the dead. That He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as Intercessor
4.  That all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgiveness of                      sins.
5.  That justification, regeneration, and the new birth are wrought by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.
6.  In sanctification subsequent to the new birth, through faith in the blood of Christ; through the Word; and by the Holy Spirit.
7.  Holiness to be God’s standard of living for His people.
8.  In the baptism with the Holy Spirit subsequent to a clean heart.
9.  In speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance and that it is the initial evidence of the baptism of the Holy Ghost.
10. In water baptism by immersion, and all who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
11. Divine healing is provided for all in the atonement.
12. The Lord’s Supper and the washing of the saints’ feet.
13. In the premillennial second coming of Jesus. First, to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch away the living saints to Him in the air.                        Second, to reign on the earth a thousand years.
14. In the bodily resurrection; eternal life for the righteous, and eternal punishment for the wicked.
